Sarah Walsh is a New York City based licensed architect and Senior Director of Design with Marriott International’s Global Design Luxury team, where she leads design across EDITION, W Hotels, St. Regis, and The Ritz-Carlton. Her work brings together architecture, interiors, art, brand, real estate, and the experience of hospitality at a global scale.
A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and Écoles d’Art Américaines de Fontainebleau in France, Sarah’s foundation in both architecture and the arts has remained central to her work. Early in her career, she worked in New York with multidisciplinary artist, designer, and lighting designer Joel Fitzpatrick and architect and furniture designer Chandler Pierce, experiences that shaped her approach to design.
She later joined Gensler in Washington, DC, developing her international hospitality practice alongside building the city’s emerging restaurant and cultural scene. She returned to New York in 2023, having been with Marriott International since 2018.
Today, Sarah leads design management across Marriott’s luxury portfolio. Since 2020, she has also been gradually building a body of work in painting alongside her career in architecture and design.
